Looking for something to do? Well then come to St Augustine. Here we clearly have too much to do, let me explain. One example of too much to to do is this weekend, when we have 2 parades, a Christmas parade (Yes we still celebrate Christ’s birth in St Augustine) and a British Night Watch (Torch lit, dressed in period clothing) parade. And that’s just the beginning.
This article from the local newspaper The Record says it all. This is one of the longest articles I’ve seen in our little hometown paper. After all this is going to be one of the longest holiday periods (the days between Thanksgiving and Christmas) in recent history.
But just how many events can one go to, I mean really? We have a Winter Wonderland, Dressing of the Palms (Florida’s version of trimming a Christmas tree), Candlelight tour of Villa Zorayda, the ubiquitous Nights of Lights where you can ride a Red Train or a Holly Jolly Trolley to see the lights at night, and that’s not even mentioning all the live music venues around town that attract artists from the frozen north.
On top of the Holidays, it’s the beginning of the Theater Season and the list of plays and comedy shows are half the list. Poetry, Jazz, Fashion shows, Storytelling, even the Flea Market and Outlet Malls are on the list!
The Inn on Charlotte recommends that you book a room before it’s too late (We are booking up fast) and pick a festive event to attend this holiday season. You will not be disappointed in either.
